For those of you who have the Direto XR, Direto XR-T, Suito, or Suito-T trainers at your home, there’s some neat news coming your way. Earlier this month, a bunch of firmware updates were released, bringing some useful features to boost the effectiveness of your indoor cycling sessions. Whether you’re buying a new unit or already have one, you can get these updates via the Upgrado app.

Plus, the pricing on some of the trainers by Elite has been revised to be more wallet-friendly. Here’s what’s new:

Refreshed Pricing

Let’s start with the best news. We’ve got a markdown in pricing for the Suito-T and Direto XR-T models. The Suito-T now retails for $549/549€/£499, marked down from its original price of $699. Similarly, the Direto XR-T comes at a new price tag of $699/699€/£599 from $899.

Amazon seems to be marking their prices down even further. The Elite Suito-T and Elite Suito (comes with a cassette) are marked down to $439.

The Direto XR-T is marked down to $499 from $700. And the Elite Direto XR (comes with a cassette) is marked down to $549 from $999.

New Firmware Features

“Easy Start” Function

Taking short breaks during high-wattage ERG mode sessions is now more manageable. Many cycling apps support this feature already but if not, no need to worry. Once you stop pedaling, this feature gives you a breather before resuming the resistance level, allowing you to catch up on your power without any hassle.

Bridge Cardio and Bridge Cadence Functions

With the new update, now you can connect your heart rate monitor or cadence sensor directly to your trainer. It acts as a bridge, broadcasting data from sensors to the software simultaneously. This is great especially for Apple TV users given its Bluetooth Smart sensors limitations.

Swift Supertuck

In Zwift, when descending at faster speeds and cadence hit zero, your avatar will go into supertuck position. The Swift Supertuck – yes, it’s called “Swift” – feature enables faster power data reset times when you stop pedaling, to help transition you into supertuck position in the game.

Improved ERG Mode Brake Management

This is a Direto XR & Direto XR-T exclusive. This update aims at enhancing power data stability in ERG mode. It perfectly aligns brake responses with the software, giving you smoother ERG mode experience.

Power Smoothing

This is a Direto XR & Direto XR-T exclusive. This allows for smoother ERG power data visualization. The new feature gives you four levels of ERG mode smoothing.

Upgrado Firmware Update Process

To incorporate these updates, simply use the Upgrado app. Choose your trainer from the list and check for any new updates. Remember, this app is mobile device exclusive.
