ROUVY, known for its real-world video routes and structured training experience, has acquired BKOOL, another indoor cycling platform, as part of its strategy to grow its user base and expand into key European markets. The deal was finalized on July 24, 2025. Financial terms weren’t disclosed.
ROUVY currently serves around 250,000 riders, according to their press release, and has been steadily growing. This acquisition adds to its portfolio, which already includes FulGaz, and strengthens its position in the indoor cycling space — especially in Spain, France, and Denmark, where BKOOL has a solid presence.
One of the key reasons for the acquisition is BKOOL’s ability to convert GPX files into 3D virtual routes. This feature complements ROUVY’s existing Route Creator tool and supports its goal of blending indoor training with outdoor realism.
Petr Samek, ROUVY’s co-founder and CEO (who will now also serve as BKOOL’s CEO), said the move will allow ROUVY to continue building on its current platform while also supporting the needs of BKOOL’s community. “This helps us invest more in the product and provide more value to all types of cyclists — from casual fitness riders to those training for an IRONMAN,” he said.
BKOOL will continue to operate as a standalone brand for now. ROUVY plans to stabilize the platform first, then take time to understand the needs of existing users before making broader changes — a similar approach it took with FulGaz.
BKOOL’s former CEO Alfonso Garcia-Lozano called the acquisition a positive step for both companies. “We believe this partnership will help bring better experiences to more cyclists without losing what made each platform unique,” he said.
For users of both platforms, there won’t be any immediate changes. ROUVY says development of its main app will continue as planned, and BKOOL riders can expect ongoing support as the new leadership gets up to speed.
