As the current global health pandemic continues to spread, causing races and events to be postponed or canceled, you might be wondering what you should do with your training, and what effect, if any, hard training has on your immune system.

I tapped into coach Neal Henderson and the head of sports science at Wahoo Fitness to discuss the effect of training on our immune system and how to adjust our training during this period.

Neal Henderson has been coaching endurance athletes for over 25 years. His athletes have won multiple grand tour jerseys, Olympic medals, and World Championships. Most recently Rohan Dennis’ victory in the 2018 UCI ITT World Championship. Coach Neal is also the mastermind behind a lot of The Sufferfest workouts and 4DP FTP testing.
