Rouvy today released a 40km (25 miles) section of the most iconic race in the Ironman circuit and made it available for its Augmented reality riding and racing.

The 25 miles section is part of the iconic route for the Ironman World Championship, which takes place in Kona each year in October.

The 25 miles section starts from Waikoloa Village and goes all the way up to Hawi. The route has an average elevation of 1% and max out at 10% with a total elevation of 1,754ft.

Once public beta testing of AR is over, Rouvy plan on releasing the full version of Ironman Kona course

We are very excited to provide the global triathlon community with this opportunity. For many amateur triathletes, getting to Kona will remain a dream. The competition to qualify is incredible. Now the triathletes can experience the course in their training room,” said Petr Samek, CEO of Rouvy. “Those times when indoor training was boring are gone. Now we are working to make race preparation equally efficient for any type of rider. On Rouvy, we see the number of pro athletes growing. The ability to ride your seasonal events in the winter gives you the proper confidence and competitive advantage.

If you have an active Rouvy subscription, you can experience AR yourself. It’s currently available on iOS devices and Windows version of Rouvy.
