The touch screen is a little fiddly, I put that mainly down to having warm sweaty hands during the ride though, but I found myself dabbing at the screen a few times to get what I wanted.
I've got a Garmin Vivoactive watch and the one thing I'd say is they seem to conflict with the connection. My iPhone would not find the 820 when I had the watch connected, once I disconnected the watch, the 820 showed up. When I then turned the watch connection back on they appear to both be connected but there is possibly conflict with notifications.
Be VERY careful with the incident warning also, its designed to conected your selected emergency contact if the unit detects an incident, but I read a review that it went off on the reviewer and on my ride on sunday it went off as I stopped at a red light. You get about 30 seconds to cancel it before it sends an alert, so its probably ok but something to keep in mind. If your emergency contacts gets the alert you could cause panic.
Its a great unit though.
I do have a tendency to start and stop the ride timer accidently when taking it off or putting it on the mount. But that's just me. Courses are easly to load, I don't have to plug it in or anything, I just click send from the app (although I design the course on the PC cause it's easier)
Wishes:
I wish each profile could auto set the gear used. Gear should be listed under the profile settings not general settings, all setting should exist under each profile. Weight, age, whatever you want. That way you could have a profile for your hubby who is not female and weighs 100lbs more than you..
Things I still need to test and will update afterwards:
I haven't used it in the rain yet, but I'm sure that will happen soon enough.
Nor have I experienced incident detection (and hope I never do).
I also need to test how long the battery lasts (will it get me through a double centrury?) and if I can charge and record a ride at the same time.
Personally, I don't understand all the bad reviews; however, I have only owned it for 1.5 months.
